My name is Aruna Gurung. I am studying FDA in Hospitality Management at Ealing, Hammersmith and West London college. This unit name is MPD and it is stand for Managing Professional Development. The module is all about managing ourself in order to reach the destination we desire of. It gives us idea about how to set up the target and what are the essential process that we need to follow to make it comes real.
In our first class of MPD 's session, we learned to set up the account in hotmail, to make documents and how to add files in the folders. We also set up the account in blogger.com, so that every week we have to write a blog, reflecting on what we did in each class. It was a good new experience to learn how to write a blog and use the more useful function of hotmail. This module seems to be really interesting too. I believe it is going to be very helpful for our future, to make our career.
We did skills audit as a main part of the lesson, where we learned that it is very important to know what skills do we have, what new skills we need and why is it important to have skills such as reading, writing, leadership, management etc. It is because once we know our skills we can set an target for our future and make a plan according to that. If our skills are not good enough then we need to improve it in order to achieve the targeted goal. we can always set an target in short, mid and long term base which can help us to move towards our destination of career or life.
